About
KREČET is a Toronto textile atelier founded by designer Maxim Sokolov. What began as a ready-to-wear label shaped by skateboarding, art, and the freedom of expression has grown into a broader practice: garments, reupholstery, and custom uniforms as its newest chapter.
The work is rooted in construction and material honesty: tailored jackets, structured denim, contrast stitching, textiles chosen to be worn hard and kept long. Every piece is made to move, last, and say something about the person wearing it.
Today, Krecet designs custom uniforms for design-driven local businesses: specialty coffee shops, wine bars, and boutiques where what the team wears is part of the room.
Approach
Krecet's approach starts with fabric. Every design begins with the material: how it moves, drapes, ages, and takes a wash or a stitch. Silhouettes stay clean and considered, and everything else, the cut, the seams, the finishing, serves what the fabric asks for. The goal is the same throughout: pieces that fit well, move well, and last.
Value
The value is in the textile work. Krecet treats fabric as a material to be shaped, not just sewn: washing, distressing, contrast stitching, and finishing techniques that give every piece a distinct character and hand. The result is clothing that looks considered, wears easily, and holds up to real life.
